Graham's Biography

Graham was born and grew up in Bath, he left school at 16 to join the Royal Navy where he spent 10 years specialising in telecommunications. Graham's boyhood love of painting was revitalised in 1994 after seeing an episode of "Art Works" with David Bellamy. Graham spent the next few years producing more mud than magic and eventually discovered pastels in 1998. Sorry David!

Graham soon found he could produce the stunning evocative MOODY VIEWS he is now becoming known for, please go to the Landscape and Seascape Gallery pages to see examples. Graham is available for demonstrations and workshops to art groups and societies and also runs his own 1 day workshops at his home studio in Wiltshire where all materials are provided. Grahams workshops are run on a relaxed, friendly, "paint along with" method, where we complete two paintings. Please click on the "Events Calendar" button above for all information on forthcoming events.

Four DVD's entitled Beginning Moody Views in Soft Pastel, Further Techniques in Pastel, Summer and Autumn trees in Pastel and Seascapes in Pastel are now available through this site. These DVD's show in close detail his methods and techniques as he completes two paintings on each "All at Sea" & "Homeward Bound" on the first DVD, "Farm at Side Howe" & "Autumn Snow" on the second, "Shades of Autumn" & "Summer at last" on the 3rd and Awaiting the tide & Raging surf on the 4th. All of which can be viewed via the "Moody Views DVD's" button above.
