Pastel Painting Materials

	Graham uses Unison Artists Quality Soft Pastels and a selection of Faber Castell Pitt Pastel pencils for the fine detail. A soft charcoal pencil and a number 6 soft chisel edge colour shaper is used for blending reflections and small areas. The majority of Grahams paintings are produced using Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper on the smooth side. Where more tooth is required for a particular scene and the painting of summer foliage Graham used Fabriano Ingres paper. Please note: I have now been told by my suppliers (May 2009) that the Fabriano Ingres paper is to be discontinued in all but a few pale colours which are not really suitable for pastel painting.
